Toddlers - 15 Months Through 33 Months

What a wonderful whole new world when babies take to their feet. They walk, they talk, and they begin to develop relationships with each other. Your toddler has so many things he or she wants to see and do every step of the way .When children begin walking alone they graduate to our Toddler Room. At this age, children develop a greater independence, but still have a strong need for one on one affection and attention. Young Toddlers are encouraged to explore and discover new things with guidance and encouragement from staff. At this age, a more structured schedule with a planned reading and singing circle time, creative arts and outdoor time is also introduced. This helps children feel more secure by providing them with a sense of time and expectation of things to come. Our Toddler room is equipped with the developmentally appropriate toys and all activities are prepared to foster interest and a willingness to explore. I will develop friendships, confidence and self-esteem.

Physical Development

Our classrooms and equipment are designed so that children can safely explore their environment. By keeping active, your child will improve coordination, build motor skills and discover his or her physical abilities.

Overview

I will discover new things every day in my first preschool experience.

See your child discover something new each day under the caring eyes of our experienced teachers. Children at this age are curious about the world around them. They are busy exploring their environment and learning to communicate their thoughts. While they begin to exert their independence, they are also gaining a better understanding of group play. The Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program at KinderCare® Learning Centers emphasizes the development of the whole child, by focusing on both education fundamentals and social skills. Our caring teachers keep small hands busy and young minds engaged through activities designed specifically for this age group.

Your child will build skills and confidence through games, songs, movement and art, as KinderCare® Learning Centers' experienced teachers provide an outlet for creative expression. By encouraging child-directed play, we ensure that your child develops at his or her own pace. Sharing, cooperating and taking turns teaches your child the importance of being a team player.
