School Age 1 (Kindergarten through Grade 3) & School Age 2 (Grade 3-8)
First Years Academy’s before- and after-school program was developed to meet the growing educational needs of children. Children are able to spend time with friends and enjoy activities that are relevant to school-age interests. To make it easy for your family's schedule, Children in Templeton Center and Narragansett Middle school are able to take the bus to and from First Years Academy. Also children in East Templeton School are able to walk across the street to School and back to FYA from school. Our school-age program also aligns with school calendars to provide a fun-filled (and educational!) program offering during holidays, teacher in-service days and other school breaks.

Your School Ager's Day
To ensure your school-ager has a balanced of both learning and fun, our teachers allow each child to choose his or her own particular area of interest. This is done to enhance your child's growing independence and, of course, make sure he or she is having the best day possible. We promote independence in an organized atmosphere, as it is increasingly important for children to be their own thinkers. We also teach children to work well within a group through listening, sharing and cooperation.
