Infants - 4 weeks through 15 months
Our infant staff understand the importance of adult interaction with infants and our program ensures that babies receive the one on one attention that they need to develop trust for those caring for them and feel secure in world around them. Throughout the day each Infant is nurtured through being held, cuddled, talked to and sang to throughout the day. As parents are a child’s first teacher we work together with parents to develop each infant's individual daily schedule. Each child is different and flexibility is a key need as infants grow, change and learn. First Years Academy staff understands and appreciates this importance and foster infants in their individuality and dependence of quality care. Parents fill out the top section of a daily sheet to inform them of their child’s day and to let teachers know how their morning and evening went, Teaches then use the form to involve parents in their child's activities through a day. In the infant class, children may go outside either on a carriage ride or in the playground. Infants are introduced to art, book, songs and toys that will stimulate their senses as well as provide them with a challenge of what is to come next.
