Arrival & Departure

You should hold your child's hand upon entering and leaving the school. Please do not let your child run in the parking lot, we are in a busy traffic area behind the elementary school and cars may not see children when coming up our road. No children are to be left in any vehicle in the First Years Academy parking lot.

Non-Guardian Pick Ups

We cannot allow any child to leave with any one except the person on your child's pick up authorization form. If someone else is going to be picking up your child, we will then need it in writing. The person picking up must have a photo ID and their address you give must match. If your family has legal arrangements regarding visitation we need court documentation.

Late Pick Up

A full time spot at First Years Academy is from 5 hours up to 10 hours per day. A half day is up to 4 hours per day, please make sure to schedule your child accordingly taking into account errands, and poor driving conditions. We staff accordingly to the children scheduled to be in the school at any given time and this rule is strongly upheld by The Department of Education and Care regarding their teacher to child ratio rules.

Overtime starts at the time before your scheduled drop-off or after your scheduled pick up time. Late fees will be assessed for *$10.00 for the first 15 minutes late or early and $5 every 5 minutes late there after. If early drop off or early pick up becomes a problem termination of services may result. The provider is under no obligation to provide an extension of time if such extension conflicts with the provider's own plans. Late arrival does not justify late departure.
